Methodology

How BriefFence scores a kickoff

BriefFence starts from a neutral baseline, then adjusts for the conditions that most often create unpaid churn or weak delivery starts in service work.

Inputs that raise confidence

  • Clear outcomes and a defined project shape
  • Approved or realistic budget signals
  • One decision-maker or a small review group
  • Assets, copy, references, or source materials already gathered

Inputs that raise risk

  • Fuzzy goals and moving targets
  • No budget signal or heavy cost pressure
  • Rush timing combined with scattered assets
  • High revision risk plus many reviewers

What the score means

  • 78–100: clear enough to start, assuming your normal contract and deposit process is in place.
  • 58–77: clarify before promising; the project may still be good, but the kickoff needs firmer edges.
  • 0–57: high scope-creep risk; discovery, reframing, or stronger constraints should come first.

Important limit

BriefFence is a planning aid, not legal advice, financial advice, or a contract system. Always use your own proposal, deposit, contract, and professional judgment.
